Cunningham Stays at TU

It was a last minute reversal, and now Bubba Cunningham will stay at TU as athletic director. It’s not clear if Kansas’ decision to keep several athletic department employees on for another year was the main factor in Cunningham’s decision. There may have also been some stipulations brought up late in contract negotiations by KU officials that kept the deal from being finalized.

The bottom line is that Cunningham was very close to taking over in Lawrence, and whoever does end up with the job will have that ticket scandal mess to continue to work through. The development is ovbiously great news for TU- Cunningham has been terrific at leading Hurricane athletics, and will continue to keep Tulsa in strong shape.
