Cunningham to KU

Sources have told Oklahoma Sports that TU’s Bubba Cunningham will be named as the new athletic director at Kansas sometime this week, and that he could be welcomed by fans at Allen Fieldhouse at halftime of the Jayhawks’ basketball game against USC on Saturday afternoon.

Cunningham has been in the same position at the University of Tulsa for the past five years, arriving there after a 3-year stint as the AD at Ball State.

Cunningham has politely declined numerous questions about the Kansas job since his name was linked to the opening in the wake of Lew Perkins’ resignation in early September.
