The UCO Bronchos have won 16-straight games and have ridden their way back into the NCAA Division II top 25. Bronchos’ Coach Terry Evans, and others, believe guard DaunteWilliams has a chance to play in the NBA.
He’s in the top ten in the Lone Star Conference in scoring, rebounding, assists, steals, FG percentage and 3-point percentage. And Williams is less than a year removed from tearing the ACL in his left knee.
He is 6-4 and athletic and has played every position on the floor for the Bronchos. An injury to Victor Driver has forced Williams to move to the point where he has really thrived. In fact, Coach Evans tells me that it will be at the point guard spot that Williams will make it in the NBA if he does.
He’s also very humble, preferring to dish to an open teammate for a three rather than take the ball to the bucket himself. As his knee improves, so will Williams’ pro chances.
I hope you can make it out to see him. The Bronchos have only one more home game, but he is just a senior and fans can enjoy Williams for another year.
If you can’t get out to see him, check out my package here on Oklahoma Sports
