NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners continued to roll Sunday with 6-2 win over the New Mexico Lobos, pulling of the series sweep and extending their win streak to nine games.

Dillon Overton (8-3) kept the New Mexico (16-36) offense in check for most of the contest, giving up just two earned runs on seven hits in his six innings of service while striking out five. Oklahoma (3-6) got to Lobos’ starter Richard Olson (3-6), who gave up five earned runs in his five innings of service.

The Lobos actually scored the game’s first run, an RBI single from Sam Wilson to score Ben Woodchick from second in the top of the second. However, Oklahoma would immediately respond and not trail for the remainder of the contest.

With two outs and Casey Johnson on second, Elliott Blair singled down the right side to tie the game 1-1. In the bottom of the third, Cale Ellis drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and advanced to third thanks to a Ricky Eisenberg ground out. Tyler Ogle followed with an RBI single up the middle to bring Ellis home and take a 2-1 lead.

Oklahoma extended its lead in the bottom of the third thanks to an RBI triple from Blair to bring Caleb Bushyhead home from first, and a Tyler Ogle two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth made it a 5-1 advantage.

New Mexico added one run in the top of the sixth, but was unable to pull off the comeback.

Oklahoma will take the week on before heading to Waco, Texas for a season-closing, three-game series against the Baylor Bears, starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
