NORMAN, Okla. – It doesn’t get much more dramatic than this.

Ricky Eisenberg’s walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth inning gave OU an 11-7 win to finish off the series against the Kansas Jayhawks on Sunday.

OU swept the Jayhawks in the three-game series and scored in double digits in all three.

Sunday’s game started a little bit slower for the Sooners as they went down 1-0 but then were able to tie it up in the second inning thanks to a groundout RBI from Casey Johnson.

Oklahoma began to pick it up in the fourth, when Eisenberg began his big day with a two-RBI single, giving his team a 3-1 lead.

Casey Johnson came through again in the fifth with another RBI to pout the Sooners up 4-1. Johnson had two hits, three RBIs and scored two runs on the day.

But Kansas rallied back for a run in the sixth and two in the seventh, tying the game.

Then it was OU’s turn again, putting up three runs in the seventh and eighth. One of the runs was walked home by the Kansas pitcher and another was unearned.

The Jayhawks blasted two homers – a solo and a two-run – in the top of the ninth, tying the game yet again, this time at seven runs each.

But it all built up to a dramatic finish as the Sooners loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth. Casey Johnson reached base on a fielder’s choice, Max White on a single and Cody Reine was hit by a pitch to load the bases.

Eisenberg then stepped up to the plate and sent one out of left field to bring everyone home and finish the Jayhawks off.

Eisenberg had six RBIs on two hits on the day. Ryan Duke picked up the win for OU, throwing 2.1 innings and allowing four hits and three earned runs.

OU will host a four-game non-conference series with New Mexico beginning on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
