NORMAN, Okla.—Broadcasts of Oklahoma Sooner Athletics will now be televised in high definition.
Cox Communications notified OU officials Tuesday that it will carry the SoonerVision telecasts in HD.
“This is something we’ve been working on with Cox and we really have to give the staff there a lot of credit along with our multi-media rights holder, Sooner Sports Properties,” said Brandon Meier, the athletics department’s executive director of video production.
The first game to air in HD will be tonight’s Bedlam baseball matchup in Norman.
Fans can watch the game on Cox 703 in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
While the telecasts are available in HD, they will also continue to appear on Cox 3 in standard definition in both markers.
From now until the end of the spring seasons, SoonerVision will produce 10 remaining telecasts that are a a combination of baseball, softball and gymnastics events for Cox.
