Oklahoma Offense Blasts St. Gregory's at Home
The Sooners bats were hot for nearly the whole matchup with the Cavaliers Sunday.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- After scoring seven total runs in their three previous games, the Oklahoma Sooners’ offense got back on track Sunday with a 21-3 win over the St. Gregory’s Cavaliers.
The Cavaliers (8-25) struck first; with a two-RBI single to center field to score Jacob Douglass and Trevor Nelson to take a 2-0 lead.
However, the Oklahoma offense got going in the bottom of the third.
Chris Ellison hit an RBI single In the third at-bat of the inning to right field to score Drew Dahlberg from second to cut the lead in half. In the next at-bat, Garrett Buechele hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score Evan Mistich from third to tie the game. A passed ball and a wild pitch scored Ellison and Cameron Seitzer to take a 4-2 lead.
The Sooners continued to build their lead in the bottom of the fifth inning, after adding three runs in the fourth.
In the third at-bat of the inning, Ellison laid down a bunt single to score Dahlberg from third, while Max White scored on a throwing error. Buechele hit his second at-bat in the next at bat to score Mistich and push the lead to eight runs. Seitzer followed with an RBI double to bring Ellison home and give the Sooners an 11-2 advantage. Tyler Ogle singled in the next at-bat to score Seitzer and take a 10-run lead and put Oklahoma well out in front.
Oklahoma starter Burch Smith (3-2) received a win for his outing, giving up two earned runs on three hits and striking out nine in his six innings of service. Cody Wheeler (3-5), who got the start for St. Gregory’s, gave up five earned runs on seven hits and walked five batters.
The Sooners will next head to Arkansas Tuesday before returning to Norman, Okla. for a three-game, weekend series against Texas Tech.
