Rocha Strikes Out Career-High 13 for Win
The Sooners’ senior captain threw for 8.2 innings, striking out 13 Aggies batters for a 1-0 win.

NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma Sooners’ Michael Rocha recorded a career-high 13 strickouts in Friday’s win over the No. 11 Texas A&M Aggies.
The No. 2 Sooners opened Big 12 play with the narrow victory, their lone run being scored in the seventh inning when Garrett Buechele drove in a RBI to hit home Max White.
The Aggies’ John Stilson threw seven innings, striking out nine Sooners in his time on the mound.
Rocha, who held Texas A&M hitless in the second, third, fourth, five, sixth and seventh innings, gave up a single in the game’s first inning. The Aggies’ second hit came in the eighth inning, when Kevin Gonzalez hit a single. Rocha responded by striking out the next three batters.
The senior captain threw for 8.2 innings, allowing just three hits. He improved to 5-0 on the season.
Teammate Ryan Duke made history, setting the Sooners’ record for career saves with 29 after taking over for Rocha.
The two teams will face each other again Saturday at 2 p.m.
