OKLAHOMA CITY -- The OKC Barons did not get off to a good start after the all-star break, falling 4-1 to Peoria on Thursday.
Peoria took advantage of a 5-on-3 power play to score at the 12:35 mark of the opening period to jump out to an early lead.
The Barons tied it up two minutes later on a miraculous dump-in from Brad Moran. Moran sent the puck skipping into the general area from 70 feet away, and it bounced past Peoria goalie Ben Bishop to tie the game.
The teams remained tied through the second period, but the Rivermen struck again five minutes into the second and three minutes after that, both from T.J. Hensick.
Nicholas Drazenovic added an empty-net goal at the end to secure the 4-1 victory for Peoria.
OKC and Peoria will faceoff again Friday evening at 7:05 p.m. for Oklahoma Sports night with the Barons.
Oklahoma native and The Amazing Race star Jet McCoy will be on hand to sign autographs on the concourse by the team store throughout the first intermission.
The first 2,000 kids age 12-and-under through the door for Barons' Blitz Night will receive a free Barons cowboy hat.
