DALLAS -- The Football Writers’ Association of America announced its All-America team Saturday and three in-state players have been named first team.
Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon, punter Quinn Sharp and Oklahoma receiver Ryan Broyles were all awarded first-team honors by the board of national sports writers.
Blackmon, who becomes a consensus All-American with the selection, led the nation in yards per game, receptions per game and total touchdowns. Blackmon continues to rack up awards, as he was named the Biletnikoff Award winner and is on pace to break several school records.
The other Biletnikoff Award finalist from Oklahoma, Broyles was just as effective this season leading the nation in receptions with 118. The junior averaged 111.69 yards per game on nine receptions while amassing more than 1,400 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Sharp finished the season third in the nation in yards per punt, averaging 46.24 yards per kick this season. He also led the nation in touchbacks on kickoffs with 53 touchbacks on 98 kicks.
