What you need to know?

The Sooners are hitting the road for the first time since losing to Missouri, and have questions swirling around them about their ability to play well on the road. OU currently has a 35-game winning streak in Norman, but in that same span has gone just 16-14 in regular season road games.

The Aggies have been one of the most unpredictable teams in the Big 12 all year. They suffered through a three-game losing streak before the offense erupted for 45 points in each of the last two games. Their contest against OU is the first of three consecutive games against ranked opponents, followed by Baylor and Nebraska.

Who to watch?

Freshman running back Roy Finch missed the beginning of the season due to injury, and his incorporation into the offense has been gradual. But he still has managed to lead OU in rushing in each of the last two games, and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said this week that he plans to make more use of Finch’s speed and quickness. Expect to see more formations that put Finch and DeMarco Murray on the field at the same time.

The Big 12 coaches selected Texas A&M quarterback Jerrod Johnson as the Preseason Player of the Year, but it is Ryan Tannehill – who began the season as a wide receiver – who has stolen the spotlight. Tannehill took over the quarterback role in the second quarter two weeks ago and has been on fire ever since. Last week, he broke an A&M program record with 449 passing yards and four touchdowns, and he has completed 73 percent of his passes.
