STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Dan Bailey’s two 52-yard field goals Friday helped the Oklahoma State Cowboys beat Louisiana-Lafayette and earn him the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.
Bailey helped lift the Cowboys to a 54-28 win over the Ragin’ Cajuns, booting his two career-long 52-yarders, along with a 47-yard field goal and a 25-yard field goal. His previous career long was a 51-yard field goal in last season’s game against Missouri.
Bailey’s performance this year has been impeccable, having booted 11-for-11 for the Pokes. He stands in third in the nation with 13.0 points scored per game and is 32-for-32 on point-after touchdowns.
OSU’s kicker was also named as the national kicker of the week by the College Football Performance Awards and was honored by the Lou Groza Collegiate Place Kicker Award as one of its "Stars of the Week" for his performance. The Star of the Week award is awarded to only three kickers in college football each week.
