Oklahoma City RedHawks Swept in Doubleheader by Memphis

The series opener got off to a rough start for the RedHawks.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks were swept by Memphis in a doubleheader Saturday. The Redbirds won the first game 2-1 and the second contest 4-2 in seven innings.

The two teams will continue their series at 6:05 p.m. Sunday.

Memphis 4 Oklahoma City 2

Memphis did all of its damage in the bottom of the third scoring four runs. Allen Craig hit a two-run double and would cross the plate on the next play.
Oklahoma City had the bases loaded in the top of the fourth but was only able to manage a single run.

The RedHawks had runners on the corners with one out but scored just one run again.

Omar Beltre (1-7) gave up four earned runs in as many innings to get tagged with the loss.

Chuckie Fick (3-1) earned the win after giving up one run in 1.1 innings.

Memphis 2 Oklahoma City 1

Mark Hamilton hit a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Memphis a 2-1 victory.

Hamilton hit his homer to right field with two outs. He finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored and was the only Memphis player with multiple hits.

Mitch Moreland scored the only RedHawks run in the top of the seventh. The RedHawks had the bases loaded with one out but could not capitalize as back-to-back batters struck out.

Allen Craig scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth for the Redbirds.

Warner Madrigal (3-1) was tagged with the loss after giving up one earned run in 2/3 of an inning.

Mike MacDougal (2-0) pitched a scoreless inning of relief to earn the win.
