PORTLAND, Oregon -- The Portland Trail Blazers have appointed Oklahoma City assistant GM Rich Cho as the team's new general manager.
Cho started out as an intern with the Seattle SuperSonics before moving up to assistant general manager, a position he held for eight seasons. He stayed with the franchise when it moved to Oklahoma.
The Pepperdine graduate is also a member of the Washington State Bar and served the Thunder is a variety of legal capacities.
"We are thrilled for Rich," said Thunder general manager Sam Presti in a press release. "He has been a valuable member of our organization and we appreciate all of his steadfast work and dedication. He will do a great job for the Blazers and is very deserving of the opportunity in Portland."
Cho replaces former Portland GM Kevin Pritchard who was fired on the day of the June draft.
Terms of the contract with Cho have not been disclosed.
