NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Three University of Oklahoma players have been named to the Outland Trophy watch list. Offensive linemen Cory Brandon and Ben Habern and defensive tackle Adrian Taylor are among those listed on the preseason watch list.
The Outland Trophy is awarded to the nation’s top offensive lineman or defensive tackle.
Brandon and Habern are both expected starters on the Sooners’ offensive line. Taylor returns after a stellar 2009 season that saw him log 37 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Football Writers Association of America will select three finalists for the award in late November.
Jammal Brown last won the award for Oklahoma in 2004. Jim Weatherall, William Brooks, Lee Roy Selmon and Greg Roberts are the other Sooner players to receive the Outland Trophy.
