DES MOINES, Iowa -- Oklahoma City dropped its second game of the four-game series against the Iowa Cubs 6-1 Sunday.

The Cubs (13-17) struck first on a Marquez Smith solo home run to left field to take a 1-0 lead. Wes Bankston answered for the RedHawks (18-13) with a solo home run to left of his own to pull even.

Iowa retook the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a Micah Hoffpauir line drive single to right field to bring Darwin Barney home and take a 2-1 lead.

Mitch Atkins (2-1) only gave up five hits and one earned run in his five innings of service for Iowa. The RedHawks only got two innings of service from Jailen Peguero (1-1) who gave up two earned runs on only four hits.

In the bottom of the sixth, Matt Camp grounded to second to bring James Adduci home and push the lead to two runs. Aducci crossed the plate once more, in the bottom of the eighth, on a Smith double to center field. Two at-bats later, Sam Fuld singled to the first baseman to bring Smith home and Barney doubled to center to score him and take a 7-1 lead.

The RedHawks and Cubs close the series out at 12:05 Monday in Iowa.
