OMAHA, Nebraska -- The Oklahoma City RedHawks cruised to a 9-2 victory over the Omaha Royals in a Wednesday matinee.
Chad Tracy and Brandon Boggs each homered as the RedHawks tallied 13 hits.
Tracy started things off for Oklahoma City (17-10) with a solo homer in the first inning.
Boggs blasted three-run homer to cap a five-run third inning. It was his fourth in the past nine games. Boggs finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs.
Hernan Iribarren hit a two-run double to precede Boggs homer. Iribarren went 1-for-4 with three RBIs.
Michael Kirkman (4-0) earned the win for the RedHawks after throwing five scoreless innings. Kirkman has pitched 22.2 consective scoreless innings over all or part of his last four starts.
Former RedHawk Luis Mendoza (0-1) pitched the first two innings for Omaha on a pitch count, allowing Tracy's first-inning, solo homer, but took the loss as the Royals fell to 13-13.
The four-game set concludes at 6:35 p.m. Thursday.
