TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Drillers (6-11) fell to the Arkansas Travelers (7-10) in game one of a four-game series Monday.

Stuart Pomeranz saw Tulsa’s lead slip away, as the Travelers managed to sneak in three scores in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Arkansas’s Julio Perez hit a single off Pomeranz, hitting home Paul McAnulty and sending Jeremy Moore to second. Moore was thrown out at home on the following play, when Clay Fuller grounded to first base. Perez, however, was able to cross home plate to tie the game at 5.

Pomeranz walked the next batter, Andrew Romine, with the bases loaded to send Efren Navarro home. The last run sealed the loss for the Drillers, 6-5.

Tulsa posted the game’s first three runs when Kiel Roling hit a three-run homer, but Arkansas answered back, scoring once in each of the third, fourth and fifth innings. McAnulty hit his sixth homerun of the season in the fourth, while Perez notched his second homer of the season in the fifth.

The Drillers broke the 3-3 tie, posting two runs in the eight to pull ahead 5-3, but the final inning stole away their win.

Pomeranz finished with the loss after pitching 0.2 innings. He allowed three hits and three runs.

Michael Kohn improved to 1-1 this season after pitching 1.0 innings for the win. He allowed only one hit and struck out one batter during his time on the mound.

The two teams play again Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.
