STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma State Cowboys beat the St. Gregory’s Cavaliers 9-4 in a mid-week game Tuesday.
The Cowboys (22-13) put up the game’s first two runs in the bottom of the first, including a homer by Kevin David.
St. Gregory's (8-25) answered back with four runs in the top of the third, but could not produce any more offense for the rest of the game. The Cowboys posted one run in the bottom of the third inning, followed by another run in the fifth.
OSU’s Tom Belza produced one RBI off one hit in the bottom of the sixth, while teammate Mark Ginther earned an RBI and one double in the inning. The Cowboys put up three runs to end the sixth inning ahead 7-4.
The Pokes then sealed the Cavs fate in the bottom of the seventh inning, posting two additional runs.
Jacob Douglas finished with the loss after pitching just three innings. Trevor Walch finished with the win after throwing 5.2 innings, giving up four hits and striking out six batters.
The Cowboys host Oklahoma Wesleyan Wednesday at 4 p.m.
