STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma State dropped the second game of a three-game series on Saturday against Nebraska, 9-2.

The Cowboys got on the board first early in the first inning after Davis Duren manufactured a run nearly single-handed. After being hit by a pitch in the first at-bat of the game, Duren stole second and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Tom Belza followed with a sacrifice fly to left field to take a 1-0 lead over the Cornhuskers.

After giving up that run, Khris Tate finished out the rest of his 5.1 innings with six hits and no earned runs.

Nebraska answered in the top of the second inning when Tyler Farst scored on a Chad Christian single to even the score at 1-1.

The most damage was done in the seventh inning, when Nebraska was already up 4-1. The Cornhuskers loaded the bases and Cody Ashe hit a grand slam to extend the lead to 8-1. D.J. Belafonte added one more with a solo home run to take a 9-1 lead.

Tyler Lyons received the loss in the game, after going 6 1/3 innings and giving up 10 hits and seven earned runs.

OSU and Nebraska decide the season series at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium at 1 p.m. Sunday.
