TULSA, Oklahoma -- The University of Tulsa softball team split its doubleheader with Arkansas Wednesday. The Golden Hurricane won the first game 13-2 in just five innings but was not as fortunate in the second contest falling 3-1.
Lauren Lindsay started things off in second game with a solo home run in the bottom of the first to put TU up 1-0. That was her 15th homer of the season which ties her for the school record. However, that would be the only hit of the game for the Golden Hurricane until the seventh inning.
The Razorbacks’ Stephanie Brewer answered back with a solo shot of her own in the second. Jessica Bachkora put Arkansas on top 2-1 with a solo homer in the fifth. The Hogs scored an insurance run in the seventh when Sandra Smith drove in Bachkora.
Cassidy Bowen led off the bottom of the seventh with a single, but could not advance and was thrown out on the game-ending double play.
Jordan Kinard threw six innings, gave up two runs and was tagged with the loss for the Golden Hurricane.
