NORMAN, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma Sooners are one victory away from another appearance in the NCAA Women's Sweet 16. The Sooners have gone to the Sweet 16 in three out of the last four years.
Sherri Coale's Sooners will face upset-minded and No. 11 seed UALR Tuesday night at the Lloyd Noble Arena. The Trojans shocked No. 6 seed Georgia Tech Sunday night winning 63-53 in the opening round, while the No. 3 seed Sooners knocked out No. 14 seed South Dakota State 68-57.
UALR knows a thing or two about winning basketball games. The Trojans march into Norman winning 24 out of their last 26 games, compiling a 27-6 record. UALR's success on the court has Oklahoma's complete attention.
Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. and the winner advances to play in the Kansas City regional on March 28.
