NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Oklahoma will see if the home court advantage will pay off at crunch time. Sherri Coale’s squad opens up tournament play Sunday night against South Dakota State University at the Lloyd Noble Center.
“I just feel like it’s another home game and another opportunity to play in front of our fans again,” Oklahoma Senior Amanda Thompson said.
The Sooners come into the tournament with a 23-10 record, while the Jackrabbits out of the Summit League are 22-10 overall.
The Sooners are making their 11th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament and hold a 5-1 record in first and second round games held in Norman.
Tipoff in Norman is set for 8:30 p.m., or 30 minutes after the first game between Georgia Tech (23-9) and Arkansas-Little Rock (26-6).
If the Sooners defeat the Jackrabbits they would play the winner of the Georgia Tech/UALR game Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Lloyd Noble Center.
