ESPN: Marion Jones to Sign with the Shock

TULSA, Oklahoma -- According to ESPN, former Olympic gold medalist Marion Jones is expected to sign with the Tulsa Shock on Wednesday.

The Shock released a statement Tuesday saying they would be making a “major announcement” Wednesday.

Jones attended the University of North Carolina on a basketball scholarship and played on its 1994 National Championship team before before giving up basketball in 1996 to concentrate on track and field.

In 2003, Jones was selected in the third round of the WNBA draft by the Phoenix Mercury.
