INDEPENDENCE, Missouri – Missouri scored three third period goals to propel past the Tulsa Oilers 5-4 on Friday night.

The Mavericks took an early 2-0 lead on two Simon Watson goals, but Tulsa countered with an Aaron Davis score with 30 seconds left in the first period.

The second 20 minutes was all Oilers as Jim Henkemeyer, Jake Riddle, and Travis Banga scored for Tulsa.

The 4-2 lead would not last long, however, as Missouri took charge in the final period. The Mavericks received goals from Carlyle Lewis, Jeff MacDermid, and Derek Pallardy to account for the final score.

Gerry Festa only made 15 saves, but picked up the victory. Marty Magers made 34 saves and took the loss.

The Oilers now return home for a weekend series with Bossier-Shreveport. The puck drops at 7:35 on Saturday night and at 4:05 on Sunday.
