STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- The Oklahoma State Cowgirls couldn’t overcome a slow start against Texas Tech and fell to the Red Raiders on Saturday, 65-57. With the loss, OSU has dropped three-straight.

It was poor shooting that doomed the Cowgirls, who shot 10-of-28 from the floor and 27.3 from behind the arc in the first half.

The scoring for the Cowgirls was unbalanced as well. Tegan Cunningham and Andrea Riley scored 10 points each, combining for 20 of the 24 first-half points for OSU.

Conversely, Texas Tech was hitting its long-distance shots in the first half, scoring 18 of its 28 points from 3-point range.

Riley is normally the scoring star for Oklahoma State, but her poor shooting against a stingy Red Raider defense hurt the Cowgirls in the long run. She shot 8-of-22 from the floor, including a 4-of-14 performance in the second half on her way to a team-leading 18 points.

Texas Tech’s Jordan Barncastle edged her out for the game’s scoring lead, dropping 19 points while grabbing four rebounds.

OSU tries to get back on track Feb. 17 in Stillwater against Texas A&M.
