OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant has been named Western Conference Player of the Week on the heels of his All-Star nomination.
Durant, who was named an All-Star on Thursday, led the NBA in scoring for the week with 34.3 points per game.
He was particularly strong in Sunday’s game against the Golden State Warriors, registering a season-high 45 points to go along with 11 rebounds. The performance allowed him to leap over LeBron James for second in the league in scoring, averaging 29.6 points per game.
