Oklahoma City Catches Fire Late Against Washington

WASHINGTON D.C. -- It was a homecoming for two Thunder players, and both Kevin Durant and Jeff Green decided to put on a show for their hometown fans.

Oklahoma City dominated late in the fourth quarter, and topped Washington 110-98.

Durant came out of the gate firing on all cylinders, putting up 23 points in the opening 30 minutes, shooting 80 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the field. He ended the game with 35 points and 11 rebounds.

Green kept his scoring more balanced scoring nine of his 18 points in each half, but it was the other statistical categories that stood out for him. He had his hand in everything in the game, grabbing four rebounds, two steals, two blocks and one assist.

Oklahoma City’s young guards James Harden and Russell Westbrook continued to show improvement and their ability to score points. They both dropped 11 in the game, while Westbrook dished out 10 assists.

For the Wizards it was all Antwan Jamison and Gilbert Arenas. Arenas continued to prove why the call him Hibachi, heating up late in first half to cap off a 17 point performance. He couldn’t keep that pace up, only adding seven to his total in the closing 30 minutes. Jamison was consistent all game scoring 28 points and shooting 12-25 on the night.

The win marks the fourth in a row for the Thunder, their longest win streak since moving from Seattle.
