OSU Cowboys Set Records, Beat Iowa State Cyclones

STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- Going into Saturday’s matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones, Oklahoma State’s Zac Robinson needed only 74 yards to pass his head coach Mike Gundy for the Oklahoma State record for career passing yards.

He nearly doubled that.

"I'm really happy for Zac," said Gundy. "Zac's been really good for our football program. He's been a strong leader and he's led this football team in the right way, so anything that he earns I think is very well deserved."

The senior signal caller now holds the school record in total offense and touchdown passes, in addition to the passing record. His record-setting performance led the Cowboys to a 34-8 win over the Iowa State Cyclones.

Robinson wasn’t the only OSU player who had a day to remember.

Senior running back Keith Toston rushed for 206 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries, including a career-long 69-yard rush in the fourth quarter to set up a one-yard touchdown to seal the game. In addition, Toston set his career high in rushing yards and tied his career high for touchdowns in a game.

Toston was quick to share credit for his stellar performance.

“The offensive line and receivers did a great job blocking,” said Toston. “I was able to catch a couple of seams and make some plays for my team.”

Oklahoma State comes back home next week to take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
