MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Muskogee girl is safe after three men armed with guns broke into her home Wednesday afternoon, the Muskogee Police Department said.
It happened just before 5 p.m. Wednesday at a home in the 200 block of south C Street.
The Muskogee Police Department said the girl called police and told them three men armed with guns had broken into the home. Corporal Pedro Zardeneta said the girl's mother told her to hide in another room and call police.
Officers arrived to find the three gunmen fleeing the scene.
Officers arrested Steven Jones-McDaniel, 23, of Muskogee, as he tried to escape.
A second suspect, a 17-year old juvenile, was arrested at a nearby park. His name has not been released.
Zardeneta said a third suspect, Jamelle McNeal, 25, of Tulsa, led officers on a short foot chase. He was arrested while trying to hide in the backseat of a maroon Chevrolet Impala. Zardeneta said McNeal has an "extensive criminal history."
Zardeneta said officers recovered a grey, four-door car from the scene, believed to be the suspects' vehicle. Some stolen property was also recovered, he said.
The girl's name and age have not been released.
