Mounds Man Killed While Riding Bicycle In Middle Of Interstate In Okfuskee County

A bicyclist is dead after being hit twice while riding in the middle of I-40 early Friday morning. He has been identified as a 24-year-old Mounds resident.

OKFUSKEE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A bicyclist is dead after being hit twice while riding in the middle of I-40 early Friday morning. Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers have identified the man as 24-year-old David Sisk.

It happened just after 1 a.m. at mile marker 216 in Okfuskee County.

According to an accident report, Sisk was riding a Huffy bike eastbound when he was struck from behind by a 20-year-old Broken Arrow man driving a 1997 Chevrolet pickup.

Sisk was ejected 259 feet coming to a rest in the middle of the interstate. Shortly after, he was struck again by an unknown vehicle.

The driver of the pickup was not injured.
