TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa police need help finding a suspect in an attempted sexual assault that took place earlier this month.
Authorities say that a woman was walking across the 21st Street Bridge at about 7 p.m. May 5, 2011, when she was attacked by a Hispanic or Indian male. The suspect knocked the woman to the ground and tried to pull her pants down, according to a news release.
The woman resisted and tried to use her cell phone to call 911. The man the grabbed the phone, broke it in half and threw it into the river. The woman was able to run away, and she flagged down a passing motorist. The suspect ran in the opposite direction, police say.
Suspect description: The man is believed to be Hispanic or Indian, about 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall and 250 to 300 pounds. The woman told police he had black hair with auburn streaks. It was cut in a bowl haircut and shaved over the ears.
The victim believes the man is Hispanic because of his accent.
She also described the man as having "puffy cheeks," a round face and a mole, probably on his left cheek. He had "big lips," a "pregnant man belly," and fat arms, according to the release from the Tulsa Police Department.
He was dressed in a white T-shirt with an unknown design, blue jeans and black tennis shoes. The victim described the jeans as being too big, because the suspect kept pulling them up.
If you can help identify this man, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS. Callers remain anonymous.
