TULSA, Oklahoma -- Two teams of volunteers from the Tulsa Area Chapter of the American Red Cross deployed Friday morning to assist with Red Cross tornado relief efforts in Alabama.
The teams are driving the local chapter's Emergency Response vehicles.
One of the volunteers, John Smith says the vehicles will be used deliver meals and supplies to residents in hardest hit areas of Alabama.
"This is something that I really enjoy doing because my wife says I wear my heart on my sleeve," Smith said.

The teams are expected to be deployed for two to three weeks.
