BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- With the price of almost everything on the rise, more people are taking advantage of an affordable food program.
It's called Angel Food Ministries and you can buy the boxed food for half the price at participating churches at what the grocery stores would price it.
First United Methodist Church in Broken Arrow had it's monthly Angel Food Distribution Saturday. One box can feed a family of four for about A week or a single senior citizen for almost a month. Anyone can sign up.
"Everything is going up, but the paycheck. This is a big help to those who can't afford it. We can accept food stamps," said Christina Brown of First United Methodist Church.
Nationwide, the Angel Food program helps more than 500,000 families each month. First United's next distribution is May 21st.
