TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police are looking for thieves who stole two statues from Woodward Park sometime last week.

Maureen Turner, Chief Horticulturalist for the City of Tulsa, said a gardener noticed the two bronze statues missing last Thursday April 14, 2011. The gardener notified Woodward Park management, who notified Tulsa Police.

Turner said the statues had been at the park for decades; one of the Greek God Pan and the other a cherub that was part of a fountain.

"We try very hard to make the park as beautiful as we can and it just absolutely breaks our heart to see stuff like this happen," she said.

The park can't afford to replace the statues, and hope they will be returned.

"The taxpayers have paid for these statues and I think the taxpayers deserve to have these statues back so that they can see the beauty of them for years to come," Turner said.
