BARTLESVILLE, Oklahoma -- The trial of Bartlesville man who told police he "power-bombed" a 4-year-old boy into the child's bed and door last year began this week in Washington County District Court.

Bartlesville Police arrested David Laird, 28, in April, 2010 after getting a report from a Bartlesville hospital that the boy had sustained a fractured skull and numerous bruises on his back and legs.

Officers say Laird first told them the boy's injuries were caused by a fall, but later said he had thrown the boy into the bed.
