Wrong Way Driver Arrested After Almost Hitting Off-Duty Tulsa Officer

TULSA, Oklahoma -- A wrong way driver was arrested under suspicion of DUI after an overnight crash.

A little after midnight, an off-duty Tulsa officer was almost hit by the driver heading north in the southbound lane on U.S. Highway 169 near 91st street.

He called dispatch and on-duty officers tried to intercept the car, but did not get to the driver fast enough.  The driver slammed into an SUV and pickup truck on 169 near 61st Street.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries while the driver of the pickup wasn't hurt.

Police arrested the wrong way driver, 28-year-old Christopher James Noel, on suspicion of DUI.
