TULSA, Oklahoma -- A $2 million kitchen renovation is complete for the David L. Moss Criminal Justice Center. After almost a year of construction, jail staff invited the media in for a tour.
The new kitchen set up and equipment will make food preparation faster and better, according to the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
Safety was a big priority in renovating the kitchen, officials said.
The new kitchen has a state-of-the-art tray cleaning system and new floor. It is also roomy enough for staff to bake bread and not have to purchase it retail.
The jail kitchen serves about 5,000 means each day. ARAMARK, the food service provider for the Tulsa Jail, and representatives of the Tulsa County Sheriff's office were on hand to answer questions.
