Tulsans Celebrate Mardi Gras

Part of downtown Tulsa looked more like Bourbon Street in New Orleans Tuesday night as the city's Mardi Gras parade rolled through the Blue Dome district.

TULSA, Oklahoma – Part of downtown Tulsa looked more like Bourbon Street in New Orleans Tuesday night.

Tulsa's Mardi Gras parade rolled through the Blue Dome district. There were floats, costumes, and of course, beads.

Tulsa Police said crowds in excess of 1,000 were expected to attend the event.

Mardi Gras began as a celebration of decadence before the ritual fasting during the Christian season of Lent
