TULSA, Oklahoma -- Police believe alcohol played a role in a crash that injured two Tulsa police officers Tuesday night.

The crash happened in the 5800 block of East Pine Street about 9:15 p.m.

Police said the two officers were driving west on Pine Street when their unmarked car was hit by a vehicle driving the opposite direction.

Officer Shane Pryce was taken to a Tulsa hospital with a broken leg and officer Shannon Zabra was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Tulsa Police said the driver of the other vehicle, 24-year-old Christopher Gatsos, was trying to turn north on Kingston Avenue when he struck the officers' car almost head-on.

Police say Gatsos was arrested for DUI, failure to yield and driving with an expired tag after he was taken to a Tulsa hospital for a blood-alcohol test.
