TULSA, Oklahoma -- A missing child gave homeowners and firefighters a temporary scare after a Friday morning Tulsa house fire.
Tim Smallwood of the Tulsa Fire Department said the fire in the 5900 block of North Garrison Avenue was called in at about 11:32 a.m. and was under control within five minutes.
The house has smoke damage throughout and water damage in the kitchen area. A family of four lives in the home, and there were no injuries to them, their pets or firefighters.
Initial reports had one child unaccounted for that was not found in the search and rescue. Firefighters later got word that the child was found playing with neighbors a street over.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with essentials, Smallwood said. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
