Tulsa Red Cross Closing Most Shelters For Stranded Motorists

TULSA, Oklahoma -- The Tulsa Area Red Cross is closing most of its shelters Wednesday afternoon. The Crosstown shelter, which housed 27 people overnight, is the only shelter still open. It is located at 3400 E. Admiral Place.

The Tulsa Chapter of the Red Cross opened several stranded motorist warming stations as another winter storm bears down on Green Country.

The organization provided shelter to at least 70 people last Tuesday when up to 21 inches of snow stranded motorists all over the area.

The shelters provide meals and cots for travelers stuck in the snow.

The following warming stations were specifically for travelers who may become stranded and unable to safely reach their destination due to the winter storm:

3400 E. Admiral Place
