News On 6 Anchor Helps Honor Oklahoma Teachers

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Some of the state's brightest high school seniors thanked the teachers who matter to them most Wednesday.

At the Oklahoma School of Science and Math in Oklahoma City, News On 6 anchor Scott Thompson read parts of the essays seniors wrote in honor of the teachers from their home districts who've had the biggest impact on their school careers.

Then those teachers, many from Eastern Oklahoma, were honored with certificates, tours of the campus and lunch, but most especially, grateful, personal, reminders of why they became teachers in the first place.
