BROKEN ARROW, Oklahoma -- A Broken Arrow family is safe Tuesday thanks to the family's pet.
A fire broke out in their home at about 12:30 a.m. and it was the family's four-year-old female white Labrador retriever, Reese, who saved the day.
Fire officials say when the fire started Reese swung into action, barking and making enough noise to wake up her owners.
When the Broken Arrow Fire Department arrived at the house in the 19000 block of East 50th Court of the Eagle Creek Addition, everyone was already outside.
The homeowner was too shaken up to go on camera, but she told us Reese woke her up so she could get her two kids out of the house safely.
The house sustained quite a bit of damage and the Red Cross has stepped in to help the family.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
