TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Tulsa business owner says he caught a thief who was stealing metal from his business early Tuesday.  The owner held the man at gunpoint until police officers arrived.

Tulsa Police say officers were sent to the business in the 100 block of North Fulton shortly after 6 a.m.

Police arrived to find the business owner holding the suspect at gunpoint.  Officers say the suspect told them he had stolen scrap metal from the business two times before.

Police say the suspect was loading old garage door springs into the bed of his pickup truck when the business owner surprised him.

The business owner said he and several other nearby business owners have had a problem with thieves stealing metal from their businesses.

Police took the suspect into custody.
