SAND SPRINGS, Oklahoma -- Sand Springs City employees found out they've been extra good this year, and it paid off. Interim City Manager Bruce Ford said that employees received a holiday stipend of up to $500 at their annual employee appreciation luncheon Thursday.
The stipend is recognition for a job well done in challenging economic times, he said.
"Our city employees have gone above and beyond with this tough budget to find additional savings," he said. "The stipend is a show of appreciation by the City Council and the City's administration for the contributions employees have made during this very difficult time."
Full time employees received $500, while part-timers got from $100 to $250 depending on the number of hours they work.
