TULSA, Oklahoma -- A Green Country man has quite a Christmas tradition. He provides a free barbeque lunch to law enforcement officers in Northeast Oklahoma.
Bill Inhofe fed more than 500 people in Tulsa Wednesday and will do the same Thursday in Muskogee. Inhofe owns Sooner Emergency Services. They work truck wrecks, train derailments and chemical spills.
This is the 27th year his company has provided the meal to customers, police officers, deputies and troopers.
"It goes back to the 70's when I was an ornery kid and met some troopers, then fell into this business and used to ride with them every Friday and Saturday night," said Inhofe. "I love what they do and appreciate what they do."
Current and retired officers said they love going to the event. In addition to the great food, they love catching up with folks they haven't seen in years.
