CHECOTAH, Oklahoma -- A song written and sung by Oklahoma's Carrie Underwood received a Golden Globe nomination on Tuesday.
"There's a place for us" was one of seven original songs nominated in that category.
The song is for the movie, "The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."
The Globes are presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, a group of about 85 critics and reporters for overseas outlets.
According to the web site, The Boot, Underwood's is heard as the closing credits roll of the movie.
Carrie Underwood teamed with Hillary Lindsey and David Hodges and calls the opportunity an unforgettable experience.
Underwood recently told the Wall Street Journal, she owes this opportunity to her mother's former career.
"My mom used to read them in her classes when she was teaching. So I was definitely intrigued," Carrie Underwood explains. "The books were very entertaining. You could have a little imagination and still be able to read them and see pictures in your head. When I find books like that I always get very excited."
The 'Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Trader' premiered Friday, December 10, 2010.
