MUSKOGEE, Oklahoma -- A Muskogee teenager was charged Monday with one count of first degree murder and assault and battery with a deadly weapon in the fatal shooting of a Muskogee man on November 22, 2010.

Seventeen-year-old Deontee Newton was charged with the death of 21-year-old Kionta Guess and the wounding of 21-year-old Dynell Smith.

Newton surrendered to police on Thanksgiving Day.

The shooting took place in the 300 block of North 26th Street in Muskogee.

Newton's next court hearing is set for December 13th.
