UNDATED -- Rural fire departments are still on high alert after weekend fires, like one near Terlton that destroyed a cabin Sunday.
Firefighters from six departments were already working a grass fire when it broke out Sunday afternoon. The Terlton Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief said it spread quickly with flames going as high as 60 feet in the air and threatened all of the homes on one road.
"We lost one little weekend cabin next door over there, and if that's all we lost in this fire, we were real lucky," said Charles Badgwell.
Badgwell said they had to call on a chopper to bring in water to help fight the fire.
